The Inventory Management feature is available in the Sales Pack extension.
The inventory management feature allows tracking of product quantities, locations in warehouses, and transfers between warehouses. It enables validating product availability before selling it to a customer.
The transactional model is used under the hood. Transactions are initiated by delivery orders, receipt orders, transfer orders, and inventory adjustments. Additionally, sales orders can initiate reservation transactions.
Inventory numbers
A product can be configured to be tracked by batch or serial numbers. Whenever an item is dispatched for delivery or received in a warehouse, its number is registered in the system.
Warehouses
A product can be available in multiple warehouses. When a sales order is processed for delivery, a user can see product quantities in each warehouse, allowing the preparation of appropriate delivery orders.
Transfers
Inventory transfers document movement of inventory between warehouses. They specify source and destination warehouses, the products transferred along with their quantities and inventory numbers.
Adjustments
Inventory adjustments are used to correct inventory quantity manually. Within a single adjustment, it’s possible to specify a new quantity for multiple products. Adjustments can also be used for entering initial stock quantities.
