In EspoCRM, a team is a group of users that collaborate to meet common business goals and share business records. Teams usually represent the administrative structure of the business, typically its departments, for example, sales teams, support teams, marketing teams, etc. Even though the team typically is one department of a company, some users can be a part of multiple teams, each of which has its own needs for sharing data and fostering collaboration among different departments.

Each team is assigned security roles that control the access of its members to certain data and actions within the CRM instance. In fact, this feature allows businesses to create a shared workplace, streamlines communication within and among departments, and makes it easier to track the work of every department.
